Edinburgh burger joint named in European top 50

Nothing beats a good juicy burger and as such, it’s often one of the first things we reach for when arriving in a new city, because of both its reliability and deliciousness.

Now travel website Big 7 has revealed their list of the ultimate burgers from across Europe and where to get them should you be travelling the continent any time soon.

Voted for by the site’s 1.5 million strong community on social media alongside a panel of food experts, Online reviews, previous media coverage and notable blogs were also included in the overall rating for each of the final 50.

The UK scored highly overall in the list with London’s Burger and Beyond taking the top spot and no less than 7 restaurants making the top 50 from cities such as London (Mac Wild, 30th, Bleeker Burger, 13th, Patty and Bun, 4th, Burger and Beyond, 1st), Liverpool (Almost Famous, 39th) and Manchester (Hawksmoor, 21st).

Narrowly missing out on the top 10, Edinburgh’s own Bread Meats placed 11th on the list, while the Hawksmoor chain, which has a venue in West Register Street in the capital, also made the list for their Manchester venture.

Writing about the Edinburgh restaurant, Big 7 wrote: “Bread Meats Bread certainly don’t hold back on the cheese, and some people have even been known to go for the triple patty burger in their order. There’s some serious eating in this one.”
