‘Raheem Sterling is better than Neymar, he can challenge for Ballon d’Or’ – talkSPORT host Jason Cundy makes e

Jason Cundy believes Manchester City forward Raheem Sterling is better than Neymar and should be considered for the Ballon d’Or.

The former Chelsea striker and talkSPORT host lauded the winger following another stunning display during City’s 7-0 victory over Schalke in the Champions League.

Cundy claims the England international would ease his way into any starting XI in world football, including Paris Saint-Germain, who boast the exceptional talent of Kylian Mbappe and Neymar on the wings.

“I don’t rate Neymar, I think he’s overrated,” Cundy said.

Sterling has been outstanding in recent weeks

“I would have Sterling in my team over Neymar every day of the week because I think he’s a better all-round player and he’s a better team player.

“I think Neymar is part of the problem when he goes to clubs.

“I’m not saying he’s a bad player, but if you asked me right now who I would rather have at Chelsea, I’d have Sterling every day of the week.”

Sterling has emerged as a contender for this season’s personal accolades, namely PFA Player of the Year, following a run of magnificent form which included a hat-trick against Watford on Saturday.

However, Dean Saunders would not even pick the 24-year-old in his team of the season.

The former Aston Villa man, who co-hosted the Alan Brazil Sports Breakfast on Wednesday, says that Sergio Aguero, Leroy Sane and Mohamed Salah would comprise his front three.

“My front three would be Salah, Aguero and Sane.”

Dean Saunders lauds @Sterlings7’s great form… but wouldn’t have him in his team of the year?

Do you agree with Dean? 🤔
