Local family business offers convenient grocery shopping – WKBW

WILLIAMSVILLE, N.Y. (WKBW) – We all have long to-do lists. Sometimes it seems like there just isn’t enough time in the day to finish all your errands.

Sometimes you just don’t want to scan the aisles of the grocery store for what you need and wait in line. That’s where family-owned ‘Grocery Express‘ comes in.

The Purkiss family started the business five years ago out of their Williamsville home. They take your grocery list, go to the stores that you want and deliver it right to your door.

As retailers shift their grocery business online, Grocery Express offers a different experience from the major retailers like Amazon or Wal-Mart.

“We’re offering a service,” says Jacquie Purkiss, co-owner of Grocery Express. Purkiss says her business offers a personal touch to what can be an impersonal, online experience.

“The biggest thing is, we’re not selling our own product so we’re not taking away business from any of these local stores,” says James Purkiss, Jacquie’s son. It’s how their local business supports other local, regional grocery stores like Tops and Wegmans.

Grocery Express delivers all across Western New York. The delivery fee is based on where you live and the total cost of your groceries. Learn more right here.
