A MAN who was beaten and knocked unconscious in an unprovoked attack is fighting for his life in hospital – while police hunt the suspect.

The unnamed man, 23, suffered critical injuries when he was attacked in Marylebone, central London at around 5.20am on August 19.

Officers today released CCTV footage of a man they want to speak to in connection with the Bulstrode Street attack, which is described as causing “a significant impact on the victim and his family.”

The victim remains in a critical but stable condition, police said, while his next of kin have been informed.

Detective Chief Inspector Christina Jessah, from Westminster Borough, said: “This was a completely unprovoked assault on a young man walking home after a night out.

“The level of injury caused will have a significant impact on the victim and his family.

“I would urge anyone who recognises the man in the CCTV still to do the right thing and call us.”

She added that there have been no arrests and enquiries continue.
