CruiseWorld relocating to Miami Beach Convention Center in 2020

Greater Miami and the Beaches will be the host destination of Travel Weekly’s CruiseWorld in 2020, event producers said Friday.

The event will be held at the Miami Beach Convention Center Nov. 11 through 13, 2020.

“We are proud to welcome CruiseWorld 2020 to Greater Miami and The Beaches, the ‘Cruise Capital of the World’ and home to global headquarters for the cruise industry’s most prominent brands,” said William Talbert III, president and CEO of the Greater Miami Convention and Visitors Bureau.

CruiseWorld delegates will experience the best of this community’s travel and tourism infrastructure, including the fully renovated and expanded Miami Beach Convention Center,” he added. “We look forward to rolling out the red carpet for CruiseWorld 2020.”

Carnival Corp., Royal Caribbean Cruises Ltd. and Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings are headquartered in Miami, and MSC Cruises plans to relocate there from Fort Lauderdale once its new terminals in PortMiami are completed.

CruiseWorld, which attracts more than 1,100 travel industry professionals, consists of various components, including keynote speakers and panel discussions featuring cruise executives; a tradeshow; training and educational sessions; and post-event ship inspections at PortMiami and Port Everglades. CruiseWorld organizers said that the proximity of PortMiami to the event in Miami Beach would be a benefit.

This year, CruiseWorld is being held Nov. 13 to 15 at the Broward County Convention Center in Greater Fort Lauderdale.

“After a long history of being based in Fort Lauderdale, we’re excited to be moving CruiseWorld to a new location with such a strong stake in the cruising segment of the travel industry,” said Alicia Evanko, senior vice president of events for Northstar Travel Group, which owns Travel Weekly and CruiseWorld
