Abercrombie & Kent to run an “Ultimate” African Safari

Responding to the rising interest in private jet travel, Abercrombie Kent is offering a 21-day “Ultimate African Safari” in 2017.

Africa Revealed: A Journey by Private Jet,  which starts at $92,500 per person, will take up to 50 guests to seven African countries from Feb. 17 to March 9 aboard a chartered Boeing 757 equipped with first-class, fully lie-flat seats.

Highlights include the rock-carved churches of Lalibela in Ethiopia, the game-rich reserves of Tanzania and Botswana, South Africa’s Cape Point and Cape Winelands, a flight over Victoria Falls, tracking mountain gorillas from a luxurious wilderness camp in Uganda, a night of desert camping in Morocco and three days in Marrakech.

“I’ve been planning safaris for more than 50 years. This is the most comprehensive African journey we’ve ever offered,” Abercrombie Kent Founder, CEO and Chairman Geoffrey Kent said in a statement.

Kent said the private jet makes it possible to experience far more than on a conventional itinerary.

“To fly commercially from the Sahara Desert to Marrakech would require an inconvenient early-morning flight on a propeller plane, followed by a long layover in Casablanca,” he said.  “Instead, our guests enjoy a direct, first-class flight, arriving just in time to enjoy lunch, complete with an Arabian horsemanship show, followed by a leisurely afternoon of shopping or sightseeing.”
