Win a six-night safari in the Maasai Mara
The destination
Discovering the wild and unspoilt Maasai Mara in Kenya is one of Africa’s most iconic travel experiences. Accompanied by an expert guide, a walking safari through Big Five country offers the perfect chance to spot much of the region’s wildlife, including elephant, buffalo and even leopard or lion. But walking safaris are as much about the small things so easily missed from the safari car — learning about the ‘toothbrush tree’ or how to tell zebra dung from wildebeest dung, spending the night fly camping out in the wild, with dinner cooked over the fire and eaten under the stars. However, traversing the Maasai Mara is more than just a walking safari, it’s also a conservation journey, meeting the projects and communities that work to ensure wildlife and people can thrive in harmony.
The prize
Courtesy of Asilia Africa, the winner and a guest will travel to the Maasai Mara for a six-day, five-night walking safari. Covering between 10-12 miles per day, the winner and their guest will stay in a mix of fly camps and permanent camps, with all the logistics and transfers taken care of. There’s one night at Naboisho Camp, three nights’ fly camping and one night at a private bush house on the fifth night, all on a full-board basis throughout. The trip also includes all conservancy fees, the Asilia conservation charge and regional Medivac cover.
