Go inside the Dior Couture atelier with Doutzen Kroes
“I have never seen the creation of haute couture,” Doutzen Kroes says excitedly as she pays a visit to the Dior atelier in Paris. “It is so special for me to witness where the magic happens, where haute couture is made.
“
The Dutch model was given a tour of the private atelier ahead of the Dior Couture spring/summer 2020 show in Paris this week, to see first-hand the finishing touches being applied to the fashion house’s most special creations.
“Can I ask you how many hours you spend on a dress?” she asks one of the team in our exclusive video above.
“At this stage we don’t count anymore,” he laughs in response. “We just want it to be finished in time.
“
He adds: “It’s really hard to tell. Hundr of hours.
“
The model also sat through a private viewing of the collection with creative director Maria Grazia Chiuri, who talked her through some of the influences behind the collection, explaining her design techniques and demonstrating how the pieces move and feel.
