Angkasa Pura II Launches Digital Tourism Service at Soekarno-Hatta International Airport

JAKARTA, NETRALNEWS.COM – State-owned airport operator Angkasa Pura II, along with the Ministry of Tourism and Ministry of Transportation, have synergized to present digital Tourist Information Center service at Terminal 3 of Soekarno-Hatta International Airport (Soetta), starting on June 19, 2017.

The existence of Tourist Information Center (TIC) is expected to help the promotion of tourism in Indonesia so that the target of tourist visits this year can be achieved.

The content in this TIC are various tourism destinations in Indonesia prepared by the Ministry of Tourism, mainly related to the branding of Wonderful Indonesia and Pesona Indonesia.

“Terminal 3 will serve all international flights at Soekarno-Hatta International Airport so that the presence of TIC in the terminal plays an important role in promoting tourist destinations in various regions. In addition it certainly can give a good impression to the tourists momentarily when they arrive in Indonesia, “said President Director of Angkasa Pura II (AP II), Muhammad Awaluddin, in a press statement on Tuesday (6/27).

Furthermore, he said, the presence of TIC also enriched the digital content in Terminal 3, which is in line with the commitment of AP II to make Soekarno-Hatta International Airport as a digital airport to realize the company’s vision as The Best Smart Connected Airport Operator in The Region.

“We hope that with the increasing number of digital-based services, the standard of service to passenger aircraft including tourists also increased,” said Awaluddin.

Meanwhile, Tourism Minister Arif Yahya targets TIC at Terminal 3 to become a kind of tourism supermall in the sense that after the tourists get information about tourist attractions, transportation, accommodation, etc. then they can directly make reservations and payments for a better tourist experience.

It can be informed that AP II and the Ministry of Tourism have committed to support each other to develop tourism such as by increasing international flight connectivity in all airports managed by AP II.

In addition, AP II airports will also promote the existing tourist destinations in the area the airport operates. As part of the joint promotion, AP II also includes the “Wonderful Indonesia” logo and displays the Ministry of Tourism’s videos and photos at all of the airport managed by the company, as well as participating in international events or other activities to introduce tourism in Indonesia.
