Efforts on to develop Alampur heritage tourism site
Collector visited the temple land and asked the consultants about the kind of infrastructure that could created in the area
Jogulamba Gadwal: District administration is reviewing plans being prepared by Telangana Tourism Development Consultancy for providing better facilities to encourage heritage tourists to spend more time at the Jogulamba temple in Alampur town, which is one of the eight Shakti peethas in India.
On Saturday, Alampur MLA VM Abraham along with District Collector K Sasanka, reviewed the draft plan proposed by the consultants.
During the meeting, Collector said proposals were being prepared through Telangana Tourism Development Corporation, which would be sent to Union Ministry of Tourism for approval, which could fetch Rs 50 crore for implementation of Prasad Scheme.
He said laying of roads, renovation of bus stand, establishment of restaurants, function hall, auditorium for cultural programmes, parking lots, setting up of bathing ghats for tourists at Sanghameshwara and other basic facilities would be provided, so that tourists could spend more time in the temple town.
Abraham said not just Indians, but even foreigners come to visit the temple and therefore there was enough scope for development of heritage site, which would help in improving economic condition of the people of the town.
