Ellsworth Auction Items Include Photography Trips to S. Africa
An auction at the Unitarian Universalist Church of Ellsworth will feature a wide variety of items up for bid, all to benefit local charities.
The church at 121 Bucksport Road in Ellsworth holds the live and silent auctions every year, and these folks really know how to find some amazing items to put up for bid. This year’s auction includes three photo safaris for two to South Africa, to take pictures of wild zebras, lions, warthogs, elephants, and other exotic wildlife. That’s a one-in-a-lifetime opportunity that really appeals to the photographer in me. If a photo safari is not your cup of tea, you could bid on art, jewelry, pottery, furniture, and/or gift certificates to area restaurants and businesses. Among the great loot you could get with the highest bids, there will be brunch certificates for the Lucerne Inn and concert tickets.
Proce from the auction will benefit several community programs in Hancock County, like Loaves and Fishes and the Emmaus Center. The evening starts at 5 p.m. on Saturday, February 22nd at the Unitarian Universalist Church, 121 Bucksport Road in Ellsworth. There will be refreshments available and admission is free.
In case of snow, the event will be postponed to Sunday, February 23rd at 2 p.m.
