Historical Society celebrates 100th anniversary of Women’s Suffrage

CLINTONClinton Historical Society, 1 Fountain St., has opened two new exhibits to the public celebrating women’s accomplishments.

In recognition of the 100th anniversary of Women’s Suffrage, the exhibit, “The Road to The Right to Vote,” was opened Feb. 1 and will remain up until the fall.

The other exhibit, which also opened Feb. 1, is called “Women’s Work” and is the first of two exhibits this year which will focus on women’s role in the workplace.

The “Women’s Work” exhibit highlights the types of jobs women most commonly held when they first entered the workforce in large numbers and how closely those jobs were connected to the work women did in the home. The exhibit will be up until the end of June.

There is no charge to visit the museum.

Clinton Historical Society museum hours are Wednesdays and Saturdays, from 1-4 p.
