Italy’s most popular museums on Instagram
Uffizi is Italy’s museum with the most Instagram followers.
The Uffizi Gallery in Florence is the most popular museum in Italy on Instagram, with 400,000 followers.
The renowned Florentine museum, which is the 24th most popular in the world in terms of Instagram followers, is relatively new to the social media platform but has grown exponentially over the last year.
The Uffizi is just behind the Getty Museum in Los Angeles (401,000) and outperformed other giants such as the National Gallery in Washington and the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston.
On a European scale the Uffizi is in 14th place while the world’s most popular museums on Instagram are the Louvre, in first place with 3.7 million fans, followed by the Tate Gallery with 3.3 million followers, and the Saatchi Gallery with 1.8 million fans.
However, although the Uffizi may be the Italian museum with the most Instagram fans, it comes in second place in terms of the number of hashtags on social media. Here are the top 10 Italian museums with the most hashtags in 2019, as compiled by search engine Holidu.
